pics and what-not

Here are a few pictures of the house when we set up for the party... I guess I didn't take as many pictures as I thought that night -- none of them have any people in it!! Guess that is what happens when you're the hostess.. About 60 people showed up and so far, I haven't heard one bad thing about that night other than from those who partook a little too much..

Really. there were people there!! If anyone else has pictures from that night, let me know.. I'll post them (with permission)

In other news, I've been working my booty off -- writing service all week.. Yep.. writing service. I love it, most of the time -- wish the hours were a little more forgiving and the scheduling was caught up.

Such is life.

That's all I can say for now -- battery on the laptop is inching towards death.. And my booty is too lazy to climb the mountain of stairs to retreive the charger. Too bad kiddos! :)

Til next time..... EAT THE CARROTS YOUR MOM PUTS ON YOUR PLATE. What wise words. (Much props to Josh.)

-'night.

Merry ho ho ho

Wow, what a crazy couple of weeks.

Christmas has come and gone and so much has happened that I really just don't know where to start.

I guess I could mention that I have the best husband in the world. I mean the whole. entire. world.

You know how sometimes in life you have something that you just really need.. something that you really want or need and you think that if you just work hard enough, you can get it for yourself? I found that being married sometimes means that you can truly open up and share the things that you want for yourself (even if you don't expect anything in return but an open ear). Mike and I had the most wonderful Christmas -- he really showed me a side of him that makes me know that when we are 80 and are giving each other gummy, toothless kisses that things are going to be okay.

On a side note: I love knowing that I am safe from getting a polka dotted hula skirt or florescent automobile lighting for Christmas..

What was on the menu for Christmas? Holy mountain bikes Batman!! Man, they are soooo cool. You really would think, with me being a twenty-something female and fairly insecure about my body, that I would freak out about getting a piece of exercise equipment for a holiday gift, but actually I am quite elated. Mike completely floored me last week when he came home from tutoring and had them "parked" in the laundry room!! [Heck yes I rode it in the house -- sorry mom] Every day since he gave it to me, we have hit the road.. literally -- and my arse is bruised and sore from the seat. Totally worth it. Totally.

So Christmas Eve I got up fairly early and went to Mike's dad's house and dropped of some gifts.. then headed off to the New Orleans Saints football game (Antowain Smith is a new customer of mine by the way!! -- and he totally rocked that day!)... After the game, my bro, sis-in-law and I went to dinner with my dad and then went to the fire station to see Mike .. He worked Christmas Eve.. all day. all night. Bummer.

Okay, I know this entry is all over the place, but I wanted to make sure to get an update in - work with me folks.

So Christmas day Mike came home from his shift and we slept for a few hours.. Then I went downstairs and made us all breakfast -- can you say pancakes, bacon and eggs?!! Just call me Sarah Crocker!

After breakfast -- we waited for Chris and Syd to come over and boy did we have a good time! When we all get together its such a hoot. I love my family. I love my family. I love my family.

All in all.... I have been away from my blog for a good reason -- Christmas.

I love this season, and go nuts whenever it comes around; not to mention that I am attached at the hip with my husband...... La la la :)

Did I mention I am a service advisor for the next week? Oh hell yea -- I kind of rock. :)

So thats it for tonight -- I will try to post some pictures later of whats been going on. no promises though! :)

I hope y'all all had a wonderful holiday.

-- Peace Out!

Company Siesta

My hubby brought me to work this morning.. gosh we have such a great time together! Normally I would be a total grump in the morning, but we really haven't seen too much of each other lately, so it was kind of exciting to be able to hang out with him :)

We jammed out to the radio and got some breakfast before I had to head in -- gosh how I wish I could hang out with him all day long!!

Tonight is the Christmas party for my work and I am super STOKED! Maybe after we will go out on the town.. Who knows where the night will take us.

That's all for now, I am leaving work early tonight to 'work the door' so I need to make sure I get all of my stuff done.. Gotta get!

Peace out :)

Numa Numa, blah blah blah

I know some of y'all have already seen this video, but holy chit -- it's got to be the funniest thing I have ever seen on the internet. Please enjoy :)

--- Got the song stuck in your head yet? (You're welcome!)

In other news, I am off today (They actually told me not to go in to work today) Turns out that they are changing my schedule from Monday-Friday to Tuesday-Saturday.... I won't get bummed til I've worked it a few weeks, but so far it just seems like I will be off every Monday -- which kinda rocks.. And I still have my Saturday evenings.. Who knows, I may love it.

Today however, I am tucked under a mountain of blankets and plan to stay here for quite a while - Mike is at work until 7 tomorrow morning so I've got nothing to do. Maybe I'll go running on the treadmill... Maybe I'll eat some leftover pizza (I am leaning towards the pizza for sure) But I will definately be staying inside.. Who would have thought last week when it was 75 degrees and beautiful that we would be dealing with sleet, rain, ice, freezing temperatures and a crazy good chance of snow?!

Texas is bizarre.

Ok, back to the work thing (which I am sure all two that read this are quite tired of hearing about).. I have a new position at work -- a promotion of sorts -- which keeps me happy, for the most part, and pays the [read: some] bills. Yesterday was one of those days, however, that I felt that my job position could be squashed at any time. I felt like the big boss was gonna give me the boot - and he still could, at any moment, decide that he doesn't want to pay someone to do what I do.

What is it that i do. you ask?

I am the Land Rover liason, of sorts. I pretty much get to do all of the work that they'll let me do. all of the work that they don't want to do.. and by they, I mean my co-workers. They get busy and get behind, and it's my job to help get them caught up so that the customers do not suffer with a long wait for customer service.

Sure, a lot of my duties go unrecognized and I rarely get thanks for it, but that's NOT why I do it. I love that job with such a passion that I would work there totally and completely for free if they would let me.. I would go in every second that the dealership was open and work just as hard. I love working there.

Lately however, I have been up to my nostrils in overtime.. and they don't like it.. overtime means they have to pay time and a half, which I know any company wouldn't want to do for an extended period of time.. so I will get a day off during the week (today being that day).

Okay, enough work talk...

We are getting ready to have a Christmas party (of sorts) here at the casa!! More info to come in a later post...

For now, I am going to go back to bed.. What a perfect day to sleep through...

Have a super day everyone!

Peace, and happy holidays!
