Off-road event -- Sisterdale, Texas May 7, 2006

Sisterdale Safari 2006 has come to an end!!
Here are a few pictures of me tearing up the off-road!!

This is a pic of Ron (my expert driving instructor) and I in a brand spanking new Land Rover LR3. Can you tell we got a bit sloppy? :)

It doesn't look so bad from this angle, but trust me.. this hill was a monster! At times, you'd be looking straight down - parallel to the ground! At other times, you had to have complete faith in the spotters because you could look out of your front windshield and only see sky.. then they'd tell you to drive over this 'cliff' which was straight down. I was even dared to do the biggest hill with no brakes!! (Being as stubborn as I am, you know I did it!)

This is me going up that same hill.. I was haulin' booty!! The girl on the side is bad-ass. She hopped in on the brake-less ride down the hill and laughed and screamed the entire way down.

One area proved to be a little more risky than the others. See, it has been raining [read: hailing pea and golf ball sized hail] for the past few weeks and mud was everwhere!! This guy just bought his 2006 supercharged Rand Rover and drove all the way from Laredo, Texas to be a part of this event. He loved every minute of it, until his entire front bumper was ripped off by the mud. Eeek. A $90,000 vehicle in the mud - with no bumper... I can hear his wife now, screaming "I told you so!" and she's in Laredo!! Bummer. But at least he had fun. Poor guy. Guess if you need dental work done, or play for a hockey team (he's a dentist and he is the medical trainer for the Laredo Bucks) make the haul down to south Texas and he will hook you up!

That's about it for the event.. I left Sisterdale early (well earlier than all the crazy rowdy partiers) and went home to lay by the pool.

Back at work the very next day, I was dubbed the "off-road queen". Guess I really tore it up out there!!

It was a blast -- the pictures really don't do it justice.. and thanks to my super patient, helpful, awesome off-road driving coach. THANKS RON!!

Tuesday at the office now, and some of the spunkiness has worn off. To add to this, I leave for Mexico one week from today. Here's where we will be staying. Try looking at these pictures and then apply yourself to writing service tickets.

Gosh, I can't stand it. Can it be Friday already?!!?

Peace y'all. Have a great week!
